For me, Manchester United is the Play of the Day. The Red Devils have somehow become a team of destiny. How long this lasts, nobody knows, but it should last at least until the end of today's match. A win will ensure Man U a place in the Round of 16 and Benfica is the perfect opponent as they will be missing 5 of their regular starters including one of their better offensive threats, and captain, Simao Sabrosa. Also, Benfica's outside defenders have come under alot of critcism lately as they lack the speed and discipline to keep opposing forwards from getting good chances in the center of the field.
I expect a big game from Cristiano Ronaldo as he returns to his homeland for this critical match and the return of Gary Neville gives a big boost to the back line. Giggs and Scholes could both start, providing the experience and skill to win the ball in mid-field to feed Rooney and Van Nistelrooy. Also, as corny as this sounds, the whole George Best thing has affected Man U in a very positive way. They feel like they are a team of destiny and the confidence that comes from this is an intangible that could push them through to the next round.
I took Man U -105 last night at Pinnacle but this line has moved to -125. I think it may move even further so if you want it, take it now.
